Alex Reid is the Executive Director, Arts and Cultural Policy, which includes Arts SA, the Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation Division and the Capital City Committee.

Prior to this, Alex was the Director, Strategy, Policy and Initiatives at Arts SA and worked for nine years with Country Arts SA in a variety of roles including state-wide Director, Arts Programs.

Alex began her career in the arts as an actor, graduating from the Flinders University Drama Centre in 1990. She moved into arts administration some years later taking up a post in Ceduna, SA as the Far West Arts Officer with Country Arts SA. Her formative years in the isolated west of the state, provided her with experience in working in remote areas and in particular, Aboriginal communities. This passion for local activity, participation and community engagement continues to this day, and influences much of her current policy work.

In recent years, Alex has worked at a state-wide and national level, influencing the development of a wide range of programs and initiatives.
