Art Partners is a mentorship program that matches people with disability with mentors and together they participate in mainstream art classes and activities in Bunbury, WA.
The Art Partners pilot project was launched in 2011. Following a successful pilot, Art Partners is continuing with support from the Disability Services Commission and a Community Living and Participation Grant (managed by National Disability Services WA and supported by Lotterywest). Additional support is provided by Enable Southwest, DADAA and a host of other donors.
Art Partners is currently supporting six partnerships working out of the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries, The Red Mill Store Studio Gallery and the Stirling Street Arts Centre. Participants have been involved in a range of disciplines including painting, pottery, lead lighting and collage. Goals for 2013 include expanding the number of partnerships and the range of artistic disciplines.
