Jennifer Lyons-Reid, artistic director, and Carl Kuddell, executive producer, are the founders of Tallstoreez Productionz Pty Ltd. They are responsible for the national and international Change Media initiatives (formerly know as the Hero Project). In 2006 Tallstoreez received the national AAMI Award for Best New Business and attribute their success to their quest for change.
They are also a successful TV producers and directors. Credits include: Moogy’s Yuki and award winning Nukkan.Kungun.Yunnan, two half-hour documentaries about Indigenous culture and the environment; ‘10×14 Bricks -Stories from Youth in Lock-up‘, a 60min interactive crime prevention DVD [2008-9]; ‘Pinnaroo Surfer’, ABC TV 10×3min mini-series [2008-9]; ‘Is Your House Killing You?’ SBS 7×26min science series [2006-7]; ‘Directing the Hero Within’ an award winning educational DVD resource, distributed across Aust, UK and USA [2006] Winner of the prestigious Australian Teachers Of Media award for Best Educational Resource 2006 and finalist for the Australian Interactive Media Association Awards 2007; the multi award-winning First Fleet Back a 22-min satirical documentary [2005] and global success Holiday Camp a 50min documentary [2002].
They love innovative education and creative challenges. Their many careers span across science, education, documentary, theatre, law and social justice. Their film making debut in 2002, Holiday Camp, is a continuing success, translated into 8 languages and still screens globally after almost a decade.
Jennifer and Carl see huge potential in democratizing digital media and providing access for disengaged youth to skill up, reclaim self determination and share their stories.
