My approach to work (and life!) is about supporting personal and community empowerment, predominantly using creative and community arts engagement techniques. This work is about developing ways of encouraging people to connect; with each other, with practical concepts of community, with notions of inclusion and exclusion, with individual and collective visions for the future and with ideas for bringing social change into community practice. One of my main interest areas is in connecting people to governance, in practical ways that are culturally relevant and accessible, through cultural mapping, locally specific engagement approaches and the design of shared celebration spaces, such as public events and festivals. My primary skills are in designing collaborative approaches to participation, designing and managing community programs and projects, creative engagement design and facilitation, event production, social and cultural planning policy and process development and community arts management.
