The Ravensthorpe Regional Arts Council (RRAC) is the leading arts and cultural body within the Shire of Ravensthorpe, responsible for a diverse and full annual program of activities including the presentation of professional performing arts events, the creation of community events and support for artists and arts and cultural groups across all art forms. RRAC supports activities across the Shire, including the presentation of shows in Ravensthorpe, Hopetoun and JerdacuttupTown Halls, the Ravensthorpe Recreation Centre, and local cafés, clubs and other community spaces. RRAC provides buses to and from shows and major events. RRAC also has a wider regional role with its longstanding relationship with Esperance, and strengthening relationships with Denmark, LakeKing and LakeGrace.
RRAC continues to be well-served by an active and experienced Management Committee. However, the reliance on volunteers makes the organisation vulnerable to the goodwill and capacity of the local community. The recent appointment of a part time paid coordinator in 2013 has increased RRAC’s capacity to plan longer-term and undertake larger projects as well as leverage additional income from current and new activities.
