Description
Chunky Move and Melbourne International Arts Festival presents BLACK MARROW By Erna Ómarsdóttir (Iceland) and Damien Jalet (Belgium)
WORLD PREMIERE
The CUB Malthouse, Merlyn Theatre
20 - 24 Oct 2009
"The collapse of the stellar universe will occur - like creation - in grandiose splendour" Lessons of Darkness - Director Werner Herzog
Digging in a fertile ground of creation, eschatological myths and scientific facts, Black Marrow interrogates our profound relationship with our planet and the potential heritage of a civilisation seeming to have lost its roots.
Chunky Move returns to Melbourne International Arts Festival with a dynamic new work by two of Europe’s new generation of highly physical and visceral choreographers – Erna Ómarsdóttir (Iceland) and Damien Jalet (Belgium) - together with an extraordinary group of Australian performers, Australian/Icelandic composer Ben Frost (Mortal Engine & Glow), Belgian artist Alexandra Mein and Melbourne Lighting Designer Niklas Pajanti, they have created a skilfully crafted work of electrifying potency.
