Description

Midland Atelier, a pioneering partnership between FORM and the Midland Redevelopment Authority, is poised at the beginning of a new era for the Swan region and for Western Australia. Located within the Foundry Building and Pattern Shop of the Railway Workshops - a site with a rich industrial heritage - Midland Atelier will help fuse the industrial with the creative economy and is dedicated to design development, solutions and entrepreneurship.

Literally meaning ‘workshop’ or ‘studio’, Midland Atelier is currently home to Australian and international designers working across creative mediums from photography to fashion, jewellery and furniture design. The Atelier will ultimately accommodate a broader range of cross-disciplinary studios including furniture and object design, metal (jewellery and sculpture), glass, multimedia and architectural/public art.

Through this integrated skill-base, and with world-class equipment, facilities and programs, the Atelier will create an environment of learning, ideas and skills exchange, where creatives from a range of professional backgrounds, industries, nationalities and training can interact, collaborate and innovate.
