Description
SHORTHORN BREED DEVELOPMENT
Following one of the most trying decades in memory, the beef industry has entered a period of consolidation, and now rebuilding with herd growth evident in the north whilst still constrained by seasonal conditions in the southern states.
2008 saw 714 Shorthorn bulls sold at public and private auction sales for an average price of $4,760, placing it as the top averaging temperate breed in the country.
Our breed development programme continues to focus on in-house education and dissemination of knowledge to facilitate the management and marketing skills reuired in the present day.
