I was born 10 weeks prematurely and weighed 3 lbs 4 oz. My family called me their "little champion" because I was such a fighter and strong willed.

I satyed in hosptial for 9 weeks until I was storng enough to go home. I walked at 18 months and nothing could stop me. I have been in hospital many times with chronic asthma but hopefully I am growing out of it.

When I was two years old I was diagnosed with severe to profound hearing loss. With my hearing aids and with thanks to Dimity and Teresa at the Hear and Say Centre for Deaf Children, and lots of speech lessons with my Mum, I was appropriate in all speech and language areas by grade 1.

I go to Fransis Xavier School at Runaway Bay and I am in year 5. I love school and I have received many academic and sporting awards. I love sport and I love playing football, soccer, athletics and tap dancing. I am playing the lead male role in "The King and I" for my dance school concert.

My family is eternally grateful to the Mater Hospital for giving me the best start in life. I am grateful too because there's no stopping me now!
