Retired soldier settler fruitgrower, Vern Hallam, has opted to revegetate an area not far from his home that was degraded badly when used as a quarry during the rehabilitation of the Loxton Irrigation Scheme a few years ago.  Vern has enlisted the assistance of schoolkids from the Loxton Primary School to get a large number of plants into the ground very quickly.  The Loxton Waikerie Council has also been very helpful, operating a water truck to assist with the initial watering on the day of planting.

It's been a project run over several planting days over several years, with a different calss involved each year, with about 700 seedlings planted all up.
