Published To

Landholders who are interested in undertaking lakeshore fencing are advised that as part of the State Government's $610 million Murray Futures program, funded by the Australian Government's Water for the Future Program, incentives of up to $6000 a kilometre is available for fencing the lake shore around Lakes Albert and Alexandrina. This project is being conducted by the Goolwa to Wellington and Coorong District LAPs. This fencing is necessary

• to protect the revegetation and bioremediation trials

 • to protect natural regeneration of native vegetation

• to protect livestock from acid sulphate soils

• to protect livestock from poor quality water.
