The Teribelang Bunda People

Before Europeans settled in the region, the Taribelang Bunda Aboriginal people would call home to the banks of what is now known as ‘Baldwin Swamp’. After a pioneer family who settled in the area in the 1870’s, the wetland was named ‘Baldwin Swamp’. As the original owners of the land, Indigenous Australians often share dreamtime stories of the ‘Rainbow Serpent’ creating waterways as it slithered throughout the land.
