Caloundra, a member of the Sunshine Coast family, is named from the word Kal’owen-dha which means Beech Trees. Caloundra is the most southern town on the Sunshine Coast and is home to seven different beaches: Golden Beach, Bulcock Beach, Happy Valley, Kings Beach, Shelly Beach, Moffat Beach and Dicky Beach.
