In order for the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens to be as inviting as possible, essential features have been constructed. Footpaths, signs, roads, shelters, bins and BBQs have been built for the visitor’s convenience.

One very popular constructed feature is the Rotary playground. In 1911 the first playground was built at the gardens, it was then completely renovated with new equipment provided and installed by the rotary club in 1960.

In 1881 a kiosk was built within the gardens. This served the public until 1911, when a new kiosk was built on the present site. It officially opened new years day 1912. Since then it has undergone several renovations and now is referred to as the Tearooms. This is another popular constructed feature within the gardens.
