Leeke's Homestead is one of Queensland Heritage Place. It is form an important part of the island's former pastoral industry and has been recognised on the Queensland Heritage Register. The homestead, consisting of timber tin cottage with corrugated iron pyramid roof with open front verandah, is a rare physical illustration of the difficulties of grazing sheep on a remote island.

Leeke's Homestead is a fascinating insight into the simplicity of life on the island at the turn of the century. The homestead has been preserved to capture the daily life of the fisherman, Ralph Leeke (whose family can be traced back to the 12th century) and his wife, Lizzie who ran sheep on the island.
