The impacts on our envrionment

The pressureĀ on ourĀ parks and conservation areas are increasing. Natural landscapes are being overtaken by the development of housing estates (to accomodate for the growing population) and industrial and agricultural developments. Protected areas and conservation parks, such as Kathleen McArthur are needed to provide homes for wildlife to maintain our biodiversity and meet expanding outdoor recreation needs.

Protected areas such as this one will continue to be extremely important for biodiversity conservation in the light of growing environmental impacts such as climate change, the delayed effects of fragmentation, and increased invasive species.
