Welcome to Gladstone!

Gladstone is an industrial coastal city in central Queensland, located approximately 5 hours drive from north of Brisbane, and 1 hours drive south of Rockhampton.

The land that would eventually become Gladstone was first discovered by Matthew Flinders in 1802. Prior to this, the land that Gladstone is settled upon was owned by the indigenous tribes Goreng Goreng and Baiali, but was later colonised by Flinders himself. The city is named after the British Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone.
