Art in the City - Happy George

Happy George is a monoprint created by Keon Hall.  The initial assignment was to draw a sketch of an animal skull.  Inspired by his sketch, Keon then applied paint to a sheet of glass, and laid paper on top.  A hand-held ‘baron’ pad was used with even pressure in a circular motion to transfer the image from the glass to the paper.  When the paper was peeled away, there were designs on both the paper and the glass.  Keon reapplied paint to the glass and repeated the process with the paper.  He created a series of three Georges.
