The Texas Swing and Heritage Festival is a community-based arts organization formed in 2011 to produce an annual visual and performing arts festival celebrating the musical and cultural heritage of Texas.

The Festival places special emphasis on highlighting the unique Texas brand of Western Swing Music as well as other genres of  Texas Music and all things Texas.

As we believe that the arts are essential to the life of the community, TSF was started with a mission in mind to:

  • Enrich the community by organizing a celebration of our native culture through music and other arts
  • Educate the public to the historical achievements and artistic expressions of Texas Music while developing an appreciation for the arts
  • Develop culture and tourism, as well as enhance economic development by promoting East Texas as a destination for artistic events
  • Function as the Rural Arts Initiative Network to create avenues for artists to educate and perform in rural areas
  • Connect to other nonprofit organizations with the goal of helping communal and financial growth

Texas Swing and Heritage Festival strives to be a premier festival known for promoting a variety of unique and emerging Texas music and performance artists. TSF is committed to promoting Texas musicians and artists. In addition to the music, the event also features workshops, Blues and BBQ competition as well as other artistic disciplines. The family-oriented event is held in Athens, Texas. We invite you to enjoy the uniqueness that is only Texas.

This event is featured on the Year of the Rural Arts Calendar of Events. For more information on the Year of the Rural Arts, visit www.artoftherural.org
