Description

Lawyer and banker John Ewing, who has worked in Vermont's conservation movement since the 1960s and helped to found the Winooski Valley Park District, talks about conserved lands in the lower Winooski intervale.  Along with WVPD properties, Half Moon Cove and the wetlands across the river are conserved by the federal government.  The new Vermont Land Trust aquisition that John mentions-the land now houses the innovative Vermont Goat Collaborative, which raises meat for the area's immigrant communities-is east of the Macrae Farm.  On the other side of the Pine Island property, formerly owned by the Fitzgerald family, is the Fitzgerald Dairy Farm.
