Description

Tom Hudspeth, who helped to found the Environmental Studies program at UVM, talks about the history of the Intervale Center, starting with the relationship between Will Raap and Rena Calkins.  Will Raap started Gardener's Supply Company in 1983; it moved to the Burlington Intervale in the late 1980s, and Raap founded the Intervale Foundation (later the Intervale Center) shortly afterwards.   Tom describes some of the Intervale Center's programs, including Success on Farms, the Food Hub, the Incubator program, the Intervale Conservation Nursery, and land stewardship.  Find more information about the Intervale Center and its programs on their website, http://www.intervale.org/.  Image courtesy of the Intervale Center.
