Manic Times asks 'What Have The Unions Ever Done For Us?'

Global AwardThe union has won the first ever award for the best short labour orientated video made in a new world wide competition. The film outline was proposed by General President Toney Maher and was based on a sketch form the Monty Python film “The Life of Brian” in which the Python team were asked the question, “What have the Romans ever done for us?”

Tony Maher and Paddy Gorman said, “In the heat of the WorkChoices offensive, we wanted to focus peoples attention on the wide range of benefits won by the trade union movement that so many people now take for granted.“

The Union video was titled, “What has the Union ever done for us?”
