Music Making
13 Oct 2010

In 2001 I was awarded a Lord Mayor's Performing Arts Fellowship, which enabled me to complete my Master of Music degree at the Royal College of Music, London, as an exchange student from the Queensland Conservatorium.

It was a period of wonderful eye-opening to the rich culture and history of a remarkable city, and of meeting new friends and colleagues. I returned home a much more confident, rounded, and developed musician.

For the last 10 years or so, I have continued travelling and touring around the world, violin under my arm, but have always returned home to Brisbane. I am a professional violinist and freelance with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra as well as other orchestras around Australia. I enjoy teaching young violinists, and this photo was taken at the Mt Buller Chamber Music Summer School - an annual retreat and excuse to meet up with old friends for a week of chamber music, just for the love of it.
