First Pittsworth Shire Council
23 Sep 2014
Published To

My great grandfather Jonas Holmes was a councillor on the first Pittsworth Shire Council in 1913.  He is shown in the photo third from the left in the middle row.

This photo is shown on the mural at the Function Centre in Pittsworth. An interesting point is that Meg Eising, Cecelia Krieg and myself [Lyndall Madden] painted the mural and in this photo of the first Council, Meg's Grandfather - Mr Ronnfeldt, Cecelia's father-in-law - Mr A.C Krieg and my Great Grandfather - Mr Jonas Holmes are featured.

This particular photo forms part of the "Colour and Heritage"of Pittsworth which shows the Jacaranda's and Silky Oak colours as background to many of the old homes and buildings of the Pittsworth district.

I am looking forward to hearing more about this when you and Barbara publish the interview about the mural that hangs in the Function Centre Lyndall.
