Storytelling Projections in Anzac Albany
21 Oct 2014
Published To
Anzac Albany is the national curtain raiser for the Anzac Centenary, with a huge range of projects including a trail of Storytelling projections and a spectacular Harbour Lights ceremony created by illuminart in partnership with Aeon Songs and Damien Hanson, and supported by artists, animators, suppliers and technicians from both WA and SA.

This commemorative event marks the departure of the original convoy that carried troops to Gallipoli and the Western Front. For many of these souls, their last steps on Australian land was at Albany.

Illuminart has collaborated with historians, Noongar community, local artists and residents from the Albany region to create the content and to develop the stories. Local voice artists and musicians have created the soundtrack and animators have worked together with community to bring the music, text, imagery and film to life on multiple buildings around the town and through a live radio simulcast.

The shows are presented over the weekend of 30 October to 2nd November 2014.
