The QLD Youth Shakespeare Festival provides a unique opportunity for students across QLD to celebrate the works of William Shakespeare. The festival combines multiple art forms from across numerous competitive categories including: Monologue, Duologue, Scene, Dance, Music, Design, Photography and Film. After competing at various Regional Finals held across the state in Term 3, Finalists take to the Powerhouse Theatre stage in Term 4 to compete for the title of State Champions. From there 35 lucky students are chosen to create a fully realised Shakespearean Production, working with the shake & stir team, staged at the Brisbane Powerhouse in January 2015.

In its inaugural year the festival attracted over 5500 students across the sunshine state, with this growing to 6000 in 2014.

This project is presented by shake & stir theatre co and the Brisbane Powerhouse.
