Refugee Art Project

Refugee Art Project seeks to empower asylum seekers and refugees through art and self-expression. We facilitate regular art workshops with asylum seekers and refugees in the Villawood detention centre and in North Parramatta. With the artwork and writing gathered from these workshops we hold public exhibitions, produce self-published zines and exhibit work online in order to give asylum seekers and refugees some voice and agency within the public discourse. We hope to challenge and educate the Australian public, activating art in the struggle for social justice and refugee rights.
