The Namatjira Project
5 Dec 2014
Published To
The Namatjira project is a multilayered, long-term arts project. It includes a creative community development project, an original theatrical work, watercolour exhibition and a documentary film. It is also a celebration of the acclaimed watercolour artist Albert Namatjira’s life and legacy.

The project is run by arts and social change organisation Big hART, in collaboration with members of the Namatjira family and many community, government and business partners.

The Namatjira theatre work and associated exhibitions have toured nationally and internationally, the script is published and on curriculum lists, we've created 30 short films, an iPad app and a CD soundtrack. We are working with the community towards sustainable economic and cultural outcomes.
