A Distorted Debate
17 Dec 2010

Description

A healthy and productive MD Basin calls for dialogue among people with widely different perspectives. Instead of dialogue we have at present a sterile winner/loser debate between self-interested parties being played upon by politicians. The same holds for the climate change/carbon reduction situation. In both cases the capacity of we humans to deny reality is manifest. We have to reduce carbon pollution and we have to return sufficient water to the rivers - social and economic considerations demand it.

I disagree that this is a sterile debate. The population of Australia each and everyone of us has a vested interest in the Murray Darling debate.   Water users and food consumers have a significant interest in the outcomes.
