Published To

Meet Sammy Koenigsberg! Sammy lives in Waxhaw, North Carolina and runs New Town Farms with the help of his family. With the TCRF project grant, Sammy built a poultry processing facility. Learn about his love for chickens, how financially beneficial the facility has been, what it takes to build a poultry processing facility, and the importance of learning about where our food comes from. The Tobacco Communities Reinvestment Fund (TCRF) assists farmers in developing new sources of agricultural income through provision of cost-share grants. This story is part of a series documenting innovative farmers throughout the state of North Carolina. This program is made possible with support from the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission.
