Description

The Vietnamese Refugee boat people arrived in Brisbane from Darwin in 1976 and the Vietnamese Community Centre was established in Brisbane. Dr Bui was the first President of the Vietnamese Community in Australia and after many years he became the President of the Queensland Chapter. Today in 2010 he continues in this important role. Our Vietnamese Community Centre is located at 2709 Ipswich in Darra. This painting was inspired by the Q150 Exhibition "Looking back: Looking Forward" - an Exhibition of Vietnamese history, unique culture and contribution to Queensland.
