Early morning brings a diversity of dry country birdsong.

Singing honeyeaters give rapid-fire calls, while ravens fly overhead, calling mournfully. The wing flutters of small birds, possibly thornbills, are heard close by. Crested bellbirds call tonefully in the background, while yellow-throated miners pipe noisily and courful mulga parrots wheel overhead. Finally a social group of grey-crowned babblers create a loud "ya-hoo"ing chorus.
