Art in the City - Head of the Otter

Head of the Otter was created by Roslyn Burns while she was working towards a solo exhibition with support from artists including Marina Troitsky.  According to Marina, “the large dark shape was a print made using a torn paper stencil taken from one of Ros’ wing drawings. The second print (in pink) was done on an acetate sheet and represented the patterning on a butterfly wing. The texture was made by spraying water onto the painted acetate sheet before it went through the press.  This was something we had tried on her earlier set of prints that Ros found effective and revisited several times during the workshops.”
