The Cudgegong Field Naturalists are a group of Mudgee, Gulgong and Kandos residents with a combined passion to rehabilitate local land, encourage native revegetation and growth of native bird populations. The group meets every month and undertakes tours focusing on local birds and plant species across the shire.  The group run an Indian Myna capture and cull project, and can lend out traps to interested parties on request.
