Sound for Relaxation is an Arts in Health at FMC project run by singer/songwriter, Heather Frahn. This project has involved working with patients and staff on all wards in the hospital to create a relaxing interlude to the day, which promotes relaxation and reflection. The instruments that she uses include tibetan singing bowls and metal drums. The techniques used by Heather are based in theories of healing through the use of harmonics. There is growing evidence world wide of the benefits of music and the use of harmonics in promoting healing.
