On level 20 of our Kent St office in Sydney one of our team, Matt Maddocks, has a special story to tell about his family.

Matt’s eight-year-old son was born with a rare liver condition and would not be alive today if it wasn’t for the ultimate gift – the gift of life. In 2007 Alec received a liver transplant and the transformation in his life has been nothing short of staggering.

Matt has dedicated his life to promoting organ and tissue donation and the wonderful outcomes it can bring those suffering terminal illness.

On Friday December 9 Matt will be participating in Transplant Australia’s Santa for a Day program to raise funds and awareness for organ and tissue donation.

This is an issue that affects us all. Westpac encourages all Australians to make a decision about donation and discuss it with their families. To achieve this and also help look after those waiting for a transplant, Transplant Australia is asking as many people as possible to enrol in Santa for a Day and help spread some Christmas cheer.
