School landcare project in the NAR, WA
29 Feb 2012

In 2011, four school Landcare projects were developed to engage school children in environmental education. Expressions of interest (EoIs) were sought from the schools across the region for activities to engage young people in NRM activities. The four schools (Morawa District High School, Geraldton Primary School, Mt Tarcoola Primary School and Strathalbyn Christian College) developed activities around native tree planting and discovering bush tucker in their local area, native seed collection, recycling waste and establishing a sustainable vegetable garden. All projects have been completed and reports were received from the schools.  A total of 343 students, teachers, Parents and Citizens groups have now been engaged and participated in activities as part of our Landcare school project.
