Action Against Weeds in SW Queensland
10 Apr 2012

SWNRM is assisting local landholders with the control and management of invasive weeds across the catchments of the region.  Widespread flooding and good rain over the last three years has seen an invasion of weed species.

The Queensland Government's Flood Recovery combined with SWNRM project funding has enabled a devolved funding round available to the region.  Priority WoNS (Weeds of National Significance) primarily Parthenium, Parkinsonia, Mesquite and Mother of Millions are eligible for the Nebine/Warrego/Paroo & Bulloo catchments.  Additional funding will be available for regionally important weeds such as cacti and aquatic species.
