How we successfully deal with life changing transitions may potentially map our futures. The "Billy" project gets to know 44 five year olds and engages strategies to support their first year of school. A crew of age care residents arrive to get hands on with making billycarts. Parents gather on site and are actively involved with their childs learning and make richer connections with the teachers and each other. Artists create works inclusively that reflect the children's sense of self, family and place in community. The project aims for a legacy of annual tradition that celebrates transition's to school & community for little children in areas of disadvantage.

“Billy- a Neighbourly Neighbourhoods Project” is a 2 yr Communities for Children Strategy supported by Burnie Centacare and the Federal Government
