ABC Opens Harmony blog-spot was a sub-element of the Peace Begins at Home event on Thursday 3rd May. While domestic violence prevention was a key theme, the Resilience Toolkit and strong messages of emergency preparedness which were presented in a united way by Council, Red Cross, SES and Rural Fires Services were most welcomed. The strong presence of local Community services, as well as some Mary Street business, supported the family fun atmosphere of the event.

The involvement of Endeavour clients in all three Laughter Yoga Workshops, was an absolute blessing.  This experience inspired two of the Endeavour Carer’s to participate in the Laughter Yoga Leader Training which was held on the following Saturday. Laughter Yoga sessions at the Gympie Show have been planned to enable the Endeavour Guys participation 2pm Thursday 18th May). (Endeavour is a local disability care services provider).

The Peace Begins at home event went beyond the aspirations of its organisers, in not only planting the seed for peace, but engendering genuine energy and excitement for what we can all achieve together in the coming twelve months.
