Description

CareerTrackers Indigenous Internship Program is a national non-profit organisation established in 2005 to create professional private sector career pathways for Indigenous university students throughout Australia.  Our vision is to create a community of Indigenous professionals to represent the voices of Indigenous Australians from the Bush to the Boardroom.

Indigenous university students have substantially lower completion rates or higher attrition rates than non-Indigenous students. On average 62 per cent of Indigenous students fail to complete their university course compared to 30 per cent of their non-Indigenous peers. CareerTrackers links students to paid professional employment throughout their degree. This provides students with access to professional mentors, a stable income and a direct link between education and employment.

CareerTrackers $50,000 Catalyst Grant will be used to support the ongoing development of the CareerTrackers CorporateLinks program. This program forms the basis of a student’s internship providing a series of ongoing leadership development workshops.  This grant will help expand the CareerTrackers program to support 125 Indigenous university students as they strive to become Australia’s first generation of Indigenous Executives.
