Fairbridge has been privileged in developing innovative programs through partnerships. One of the recent successes is the Fairbridge Binjareb Project with government and the resource sector. Aboriginal young men on minimum security are trained in Surface Extraction Operations and on successful completion step out of prison into a guaranteed mining job. The program assists them to turn their lives around and take responsibility for their future. This initiative is now being rolled out in NSW and Queensland. We are also working with Westpac on integrating Aboriginal young trainees from Fairbridge into the banking sector.

The Westpac Foundation Employment Choice Grant will enable us to develop this and other long term solutions like the Binjareb Project for many other young people who need a helping hand.
