1 May 2012

People across Queensland’s Wide Bay Burnett region are actively engaged in creating the region’s new Natural Resource Management (NRM) Plan. This 20-year framework for managing eight regional natural assets — water, land, Aboriginal natural & cultural values,  biodiversity, community, air and atmosphere, marine & coastal areas and regional landscapes — is guided by a working group that includes key community, industry & government stakeholders

The Wide Bay Burnett NRM Plan (WBB NRM Plan) provides broad support for meatier strategies, information gathering, investments & actions which will progressively develop & take the region forward over the next 20 years. Currently, the plan’s Asset Coordinators are working with regional experts, including Landcare and Catchment Care groups, to develop monitoring & evaluation & action strategies for each natural asset identified.
