Pam, Joe and the Mighty Yasi

Description

The following video is a telling of the cyclone Yasi experience by Pam and Joe.

It took two visits and several months for me to work on the editing of the story.

This was because I was learning how to make a digital story, use my digital camera well, moving and sorting cyclone junk, and wanted to take time to let Pam and Joe feel comfortable telling me the story.

Talking about something traumatic that happened to you isn't easy.

Yet, there is something empowering for people when they can do it.   They are able to release their story of survival and make some discoveries as they retell their story.

Pam and Joe were both happy with this video and shared it with their families.  They were happy for me to share it with others as well.

  1. What do you notice about the way Pam and Joe tell their story about the cyclone?
  2. What do you notice about the way I have edited it?

I have put this video in my writing storyline as I blogged it and wanted to give you an example of one of my ABC Open Guest blogs.
