Melissa is a nationally recognised event manager with over 20 years experience, and has worked as a specialist at the following events:

• Girringun Cultural Festival (2007)

• Woodford and Yungaburra Folk Festivals (2005-current)

• Adelaide Festival of Arts (1999, 2001)

• Festival Fringe (1998-2001)

and at a myriad of smaller community based, arts and non-arts events across South Australia, Victoria and Queensland.

As the former Cultural Development Officer for seven years with Arts Nexus based in Cairns, Melissa initiated the unique Festlinx program as a highly regarded best practice model for supporting festival organisers across Far North Queensland, connecting them through forums, summits, training, support networks and the Festlinx website.

Committed to the principles of community cultural development, Melissa has served on several boards, panels and committees,including at a State level. She is also a skilled facilitator and workshop presenter with a wealth of knowledge to share regarding all aspects of festival planning, fundraising, volunteer coordination, legislative frameworks and compliance, documentation and assessment.
