The Photography of Les Stone
27 Jun 2012

The extraordinary work of Les Stone has given viewers both joyful and solemn glimpses of the world, revealing the realities of oppressive regimes and the lives of those living under them. Though his work spans the globe, Mr. Stone has also captured rural America in its own times of duress, such as a photograph reprinted on The Art of the Rural accompanying a May 2012 article on hydrofracking in North Central and Southwest Pennsylvanian communities. Please find larger, high resolution examples of these images at his photoblog and also at his official site, which presents a range of work from West Virginia to Haiti
