With the success of the Gympie Get Ready Resilience Toolkit now providing a solid foundation for the Gympie Get Ready Resilience Program, the next key (demonstration project) is the Gympie Resilient Leaders Program/Network.

The need for this program arose out of the Community Mapping conducted in February this year.  Principally, like most other areas, the need for better coordination, communication and linkages across community was identified as a priority need.  As a bottom up approach, the Resilient Leaders Network will be developed along the way, in partnership with the Leaders themselves.

Having recently received support for the initiative from all the key players, we have arranged for the Volunteering Queensland’s Resilience Leadership Training Program to come to Gympie. This training program is anticipated to provide a sound starting point to help get everyone on the same page.  If it proves successful we are also interested in exploring the program becoming a train-the-trainer type program.

As other Councils have expressed interest in joining us in the development of the initiative, we have attached the information that has been sent out to selected community Leaders.  We welcome any feedback or questions about the establishment of this exciting program.
