Consultations across the region to develop and update the Community Plan, Local Plan and the Health and Wellbeing Plan to take the region into the future. With the emergence of coal mining in the region, there is an increased urgency to develop plans which will increase resilience and maintain the identity of the community. consultations such as these are imperative to devising unique strategies and solutions, to develop an impetus and momentum in development of all facets of the community to meet this growing need. Dr Jim Cavaye and Paul Collits from the University of Southern Queensland will be undertaking research into the Social Impacts of mining with the region. The plannned consultations have generated substantial interest across the region.
