Description

The wonderful donation of $10,000 from the Westpac Foundation, achieved for us by the Merredin manager of Westpac, Kerry Kretschmer, was the first  highlight and acknowledgement from an outside source that we had received.

That was an extremely exciting time for all of our members.

It proved to us that what we were trying to achieve in Merredin was worth striving for. In other words, if an internationally recognized financial institution thought we were good enough to support, then we were on the right track.

Kerry had faith in us and our ability to fulfill the aims that we had set out to achieve and we sincerely thank her for that.

Some of the Westpac Foundation  money has financed much needed equipment such as sanders and other wood working tools.

Another portion has paid for the seed and chemical for our cropping venture. Other tools will be purchased when we have a secure building to keep them in.

Since Westpac Foundation showed their confidence in us, we have since received a grant from Lotterywest which will build the shell of our shed.

We are looking forward with enthusiasm to the culmination of our dream…….to have a brand new Men’s Shed in Merredin.
