Neighbourhood Centre Meeting
19 Nov 2012

Twelve representatives of Brisbance City Council and Community/Neighbourhood Centre staff from South East areas,  began what will be a series of meetings to look at how Brisbane City can give support and resource the local centres to become appropriately trained and acknowledged Emergency recovery and support centres when the need arises.

The half day workshop began a dialogue looking at the roles and responsibilites, benefits and challenges of centres where they ideally sit within a Disaster Management framework.

The next steps will further explore the above and then how and when to bring the 'knowledge experts' to the table to begin to share and offer training opportunties, and resources to centre staff and volunteers.
